The head of the Russian company Rosneft, Igor Sechin, finds himself at the center of another corruption scandal. A journalistic investigation by Novaya Gazeta accidentally discovered that Igor Ivanovich owned a luxury yacht worth $150 million with the name “Princess Olga,” named after his young wife Olga Rozhkova.
An unwitting assistant in stirring up the scandal was Olga herself, who, without undue modesty, regularly posted photos of her travels around the Mediterranean Sea on her yacht of the same name.

Journalists from Novaya Gazeta compared photos from Instagram of the wife of the head of Rosneft, Igor Sechin, Olga, and the route of the luxury yacht Saint Princess Olga, and came to the conclusion that the wife of the head of Rosneft had been on this ship several times. On Olga Rozhkova-Sechina’s Instagram, journalists found a photo of a yacht very similar to the “Holy Princess Olga”. Comparing the route of the yacht and the footage published on the woman’s Instagram, they came to the conclusion that Sechin’s wife vacationed on this yacht several times.
Experts interviewed by Novaya Gazeta came to the conclusion that such a yacht costs at least $100 million, and its rental would be at least $1 million per week.
Olga Rozhkova-Sechina’s Instagram has now been switched to private mode, screenshots of the photos remain in the publication of Novaya Gazeta.
Rosneft refused to comment on the substance of the publication, and suspected the publication of participating in a custom campaign.
“The company does not consider it possible to answer questions regarding the personal life and property of employees beyond the requirements of the law, and cannot afford to create unacceptable precedents. However, your illegal collection and use of unverified and unreliable information may result in responsibility provided by law. We regret that the content of your requests over the past month falls into the context of an obvious custom campaign launched against Rosneft and its leader,” Rosneft said in a statement.
Rosneft also accused the Vedomosti newspaper of ordering the publication, when the publication was built for itself by Igor Sechin. The construction site in Barvikha cost the buyer at least $60 million, Vedomosti calculated.

On August 27, 2014, Olga Sechina posted a photo on Instagram from a yacht, where she was relaxing with a friend near a round jacuzzi surrounded by white sofas. 
On August 1 of that year, she posted a photo from the same deck, by the same pool.
The details in these photographs - the jacuzzi, the sofas around it, the pool, sun loungers, tables - surprisingly resemble the exterior of the St. Princess Olga. 
Other photos from Sechina’s social networks show that the yacht on which she spends time flies the flag of the Cayman Islands. St. Princess Olga is also owned by Cayman Islands company Serlio Shipping Ltd. 
However, external similarities are not the only evidence that indicates that Olga Sechina uses the St yacht. Princess Olga. Novaya Gazeta analyzed geotags from Sechina’s photographs, as well as the yacht’s routes, and it turned out that in many cases they coincide.
Route intersections
Three days earlier, a photo of the St. yacht was published on Superior Design's Facebook page. Princess Olga from the port of Adriano, in the Balearic Islands, near Ibiza.

If these estimates are correct, then the head of Rosneft could hardly afford to buy such a yacht. Theoretically, Igor Sechin could rent a yacht for his wife. But even with his officially high income, the rent of St. Princess Olga would have hit the family budget hard. Offers for weekly charter of yachts like St. Princess Olga, start at $1 million.
