Kulikovo Field

Annual military history festival, dedicated to the Day military Glory of Russia and the 639th anniversary of the Battle of Kulikovo, will be open for visitors in September - from the 19th to the 22nd - on the Kulikovo Field.

Its guests have a great opportunity to look into the era of the real Middle Ages and feel like an eyewitness to the Battle of Kulikovo. The festival includes tournaments and fights, demonstrations by equestrian military-historical clubs, competitions for the historical reconstruction of armor, costume and traditional cuisine, concerts and a fair.

Attention! The article will be updated as information becomes available.

In the vacant lot behind the Ice Palace, a traditional reconstruction of the battle for Klin in the Great Patriotic War took place. The event was dedicated to the 76th anniversary of the Battle of Moscow, in which the Nazis were defeated. The organizers of the reconstruction were traditionally the MKU “Department for Cultural Affairs, physical culture and youth policy of Klinsky municipal district" and the Klin district public organization "Search Squad Podvig".

The reconstruction of the battle attracted a huge crowd of Clinchians. Many organizations from different regions of Moscow, Moscow region, Tver, Oryol and Kaluga regions helped the Klin organizers. About a hundred participants, equipped in winter uniforms of the Red Army and the Wehrmacht, several combat vehicles, armored vehicles, and artillery pieces.

Specially invited guests were reenactors from the Moscow military-historical club "Workers' and Peasants' Red Army", from the Kolomna city public organization“Search squad “Suvorov”, from the Podolsk military-historical club “Fatherland”, from the Solnechnogorsk regional youth public organization “Search squad “Vityaz”, from the Konakovo district public organization “Military-patriotic center “Zvezda” and the Military-historical club “Orlovskaya” infantry".

This time, the reenactors were supported by a whole fleet of military equipment from the times of the Great Patriotic War - a BA-20 machine-gun armored car, a Krupp Protze light truck, and a Hanomag half-track armored personnel carrier in the version of a command and staff vehicle. The Czech light tank “Praga” (a full-scale copy of a combat vehicle provided by one of the Russian film studios) became a real sensation. Tanks of this model were in service with the German 7th Armored Division, which took an active part in the battles for Klin in November and December 1941. They really helped with both technology and personnel. Heavy infantry weapons included a 45-mm anti-tank gun, a 7.5-cm German infantry escort gun, a Maxim heavy machine gun, and a Simonov system self-loading anti-tank rifle. Copies of a machine gun cap and slingshots made from metal corners with barbed wire. After all, it is actually interesting and important to see and know what weapons they fought with, how the soldiers of both sides were dressed and equipped.

Although, according to data at that time, it was frosty - 40 and there was a lot of snow, conditions in which it was very difficult to fight. And in our time we have an almost “European” low-frost winter. Spectators could see just how the battle went. Rifles, machine guns and machine guns fired, cannons fired, shells exploded. A classic episode of the Soviet counteroffensive near Moscow was played out - the capture of a German strong point. The battle with the Nazis was accompanied by rifle and machine-gun fire, volleys of guns, the roar of explosives, the roar of engines, the clanging of tracks and shouts of “Hurray!” The culmination was hand-to-hand combat.

The battle is over, ours have won. There was communication and photography with the Germans, and of course, surprise at the safety of the ammunition and weapons. Children were especially active in communication, being in a state of sincere admiration and delight. The kids collected spent cartridges and asked to hold the weapon. And everyone could get acquainted with copies of weapons and equipment, communicate with reenactors and take photographs for memory. At the end of the event, the equipment was carefully rolled up and loaded onto trucks.

On October 7 and 8, the Borodino Field Museum-Reserve will host the 20th anniversary military-historical festival “Moscow is behind us. 1941."

Over 500 participants from military history clubs in Russia (Moscow, St. Petersburg, Voronezh, Tver, Volgograd, Kaluga and others) and the Republic of Belarus will recreate one of the largest episodes of the Battle of Moscow. The spectators will see bloody battles on the Borodino field - a witness to two Patriotic Wars.

In the reconstruction of the events of October 1941, Red Army troops will repel a massive attack by motorized Wehrmacht units rushing towards the capital. The infantry will be supported by powerful armored vehicles and artillery from both armies. The Soviet long-nosed forty-five (PTO caliber 45 mm), the BA-20 armored car and the German Pz-2 light tank and half-track BTR-250 will again meet on the field.

Military reenactors, recreating the events of 1941 on the Borodino field, will once again remind festival guests of the feat of the 32nd Red Banner Division under the command of Colonel Viktor Polosukhin. Complete immersion in the atmosphere of a fierce battle will be created by the best pyrotechnicians of the Mosfilm film studio.

The heroism of the soldiers who defended the road to Moscow for six days was highly appreciated by the commander Western Front Marshal Georgy Konstantinovich Zhukov: “Almost 130 years after Napoleon’s campaign, this division had to cross arms with the enemy on the Borodino field - that field that had long become our national shrine, an immortal monument to Russian military glory. Warriors of the 32nd rifle division They did not lose this glory, but increased it.”

On October 7, visitors to the Borodino Field museum-reserve will be able to watch a rehearsal of a military-historical reconstruction at the parade ground near the village of Borodino.

On October 8, at the tank monument to the soldiers of the Soviet 5th Army who defended the Borodino field in 1941, a solemn ceremony will be held to give military honors to all those who died in the battles for Moscow. The festival will end with one of the largest reconstructions of episodes of the Battle of Moscow 1941. Also, during two festival days, guests of Borodino Field will be able to visit interactive sites.
