All the thoughts of high school students are occupied by the upcoming Unified State Exam and admission to their dream university. Every year, the requirements of universities change, and future students have more opportunities to apply for places in various educational institutions. You shouldn’t leave everything to chance - just like for final exams, you need to prepare carefully for admission.

Rules for admission to universities

Entering a university is an exciting process, so before choosing a university you should take into account a number of certain features in order to make it easier for yourself to choose a future profession:

  • Unified State Exam. Each direction publishes in advance a list of exams required for enrollment. In general, three exams are required in different areas.
  • Passing score. For each exam, universities set a minimum passing score required for consideration of documents for admission.
  • Additional tests. Some higher educational institutions (for example, Moscow State University) or areas (for example, journalism) conduct their own internal exams in addition to the Unified State Exam, for which the future student must prepare.
  • Individual achievements. Additional bonus points (up to 10) are awarded for gold medal, victories at the Olympiads, a gold GTO badge, volunteering and successfully writing a December graduation essay.
  • Number of budget places. Don't forget that budget places at universities are intended both for applicants on a competitive basis and for beneficiaries, Olympiad participants and target students. Therefore, the number of budget places declared by the university can be safely divided by two.
  • Specifics of directions. Specialties with the same name at different universities have different curricula. Published content can be found on university websites curricula, so that every applicant can get acquainted with what he will study in the next four years.
  • Payment for studies and dormitory. Before entering a university, it is necessary to evaluate the possibilities of paying for the commercial department. Nonresident students should pay attention to the hostel, information about which can be easily found on official websites or groups on social networks.

How many universities can you apply to?

An applicant has the right to apply for admission to 5 educational institutions in three specialties. When applying to different universities at the same time, it is allowed to provide photocopies. Leave the originals for the priority specialty. If the applicant has special rights for admission ( target direction, victories at university competitions), the corresponding copies become invalid - the originals are submitted only for one direction.

Admission procedure for Olympiad winners

Victories at university or all-Russian Olympiads give schoolchildren benefits when enrolling. At the same time, you need to remember that you can use this privilege when enrolling in only one direction in accordance with the third paragraph of Article 71 of the Federal Law on Education.

Admission to other universities and areas is carried out on a general basis.

What documents are needed for admission to the university?

When choosing a university, you must personally or by mail send a package of documents to the admissions committee. In addition to the application, the form of which can be found on the educational institution’s website, the following will be required:

  • a copy of the passport or other document proving the citizenship and identity of the future student;
  • school certificate or other certificate confirming primary, secondary or higher professional education;
  • Unified State Examination certificate, if the applicant passed the exam;
  • medical certificate of the established form for some specialties (medical, pedagogical);
  • 2 photos, if additional ones are planned entrance exams;
  • registration certificate or military ID (if available).

If the applicant is a minor, a parent or guardian must sign consent to the processing of personal data, without which documents for admission to the university will not be accepted for consideration. It is not necessary to submit only originals, especially if you plan to submit them to several educational specialties. Copies do not need to be certified by a notary. Some universities may require other documents (certificates of olympiads, competitions, etc.), which are specifically written about on the official websites.

Deadlines for accepting documents and enrollment

The deadline for submitting documents and the corresponding enrollment depends on the presence or absence of Unified State Exam results for the applicant:

After internal university examinations, enrollment in budget-funded places begins, taking place in several stages. Dates of enrollment in the commercial department and for full-time are determined independently by a specific university.

Deadlines for enrollment orders

Priority admission (applicants entering without exams, within a special, targeted quota)

I stage of admission (in accordance with the position occupied by the applicant in the list of applicants)

Stage II of enrollment (filling the remaining budget places after the first stage)

Submission methods

Submitting documents to the university does not always require personal presence. Submission methods are associated with features that need to be taken into account when choosing a future educational institution:

  1. Personal submission. In this case, the adult applicant provides all originals or copies in admissions committee without the presence of a parent or guardian on a first-come, first-served basis.
  2. Submission by power of attorney certified by a notary. The authorized representative has the right to represent the interests of the applicant in the admissions committee.
  3. Submission by registered mail with a receipt stamp. This method can take from five to seven days.
  4. Electronic submission. You first need to fill out an application for enrollment and put a personal signature, then the document is scanned and sent by email along with other copies. Review of the electronic application occurs 2-3 days from the moment the educational institution receives copies.

The procedure for admission to institutions of higher professional education, approved by Order of the Ministry of Education and Science No. 2895 of December 28, 2011, provides for applicants the opportunity to enroll in 5 universities simultaneously, as well as choose up to 3 specialties or directions in each of them. In any case, first of all you need to submit applications for admission to the first year to the selected universities.

Scroll necessary documents same for all universities:
- statement;
- passport or other identity document;
- document on education (certificate, diploma of a secondary or higher professional educational institution);
- 4 photographs (in case you need to go through additional tests or take examinations conducted by the university independently);
- ticket (if available);
- documents confirming the right to benefits.

Basic information about the potential student must be included in the application. It indicates: last name, first name, patronymic, date of birth of the applicant, his passport data, chosen directions or specialties, information about education, the results of the Unified State Examination, participation in Olympiads, the availability of benefits, as well as the need for a hostel. In addition, the applicant must confirm in writing that he is receiving for the first time and submitting documents to no more than 5 universities. You also need to sign that he is familiar with the license and certificate of accreditation of the university, the rules for filing appeals based on the results entrance examinations and the date of submission of the original education document.

Applicants, at their discretion, can submit both originals and photocopies of documents, and there is a direct prohibition for members of the admissions committee to demand the original certificate or diploma, as well as other documents not included in the list. 9. How is enrollment done?

    Until July 27 inclusive, on its official website, the university publishes lists of applicants applying for a bachelor's or specialty degree in a budget department of full-time or part-time study and who have passed the minimum score threshold.

    The lists are ranked by the number of points, that is, higher positions are occupied by applicants whose total number of points for the Unified State Examination, additional entrance tests and individual achievements are higher. The sum of points without taking into account individual achievements is considered, then the profile subject and then in descending order of priority. If two applicants have the same entire list, priority is given to the one who has the preemptive right.

    After this, enrollment begins. It takes place in several stages:

    • priority admission stage - enroll applicants who enter without exams, within the framework of a special or targeted quota. These applicants must, by July 28, submit to the university where they decided to enroll and where they passed the exams, the original document on previous education and an application for consent to enrollment. The enrollment order is issued on July 29;
    • Stage I of admission - at this stage, the university can fill up to 80% of the budget places remaining free after priority admission, for each specialty or direction. Applicants are admitted in accordance with the position they occupy on the list of applicants - those who occupy a higher position are admitted first. At this stage, you must submit the original document on previous education and an application for consent to enrollment no later than August 1. The enrollment order is issued on August 3;
    • Stage II of enrollment - the university fills the remaining budget places. Applicants who will be admitted at this stage must submit the original document on previous education and an application for consent to admission no later than August 6. The order is issued on August 8.

    The university determines the deadlines for enrollment in paid departments and correspondence courses independently.

    A properly executed piece of paper is a document.

    Every year, changes in educational legislation can confuse any applicant. Submitting documents to a university can become a very tedious and lengthy process if you do not know the nuances of the admission campaign of your chosen university or the main package of documents required for admission has not been collected.

    First, I would like to remind all applicants that it is necessary to pay attention not only to the presence of all the necessary documents, but also to your appearance, when you go to the admissions office. Remember that you are already adults and should look the part: business style clothes, confident speech, documents must be in perfect condition, that is, not wrinkled, not frayed.

    List of required documents

    Finding out what documents are required for admission to a particular university is now very simple. Such information is available on the websites of educational institutions. Start collecting everything you need in advance so you have time in reserve for unforeseen situations. What you need to have with you and what documents to submit:

    Application form for admission. It can often be found on the university website and prepared at home, where no one will distract you from filling out the document;

    Photos;

    Photocopy of passport;

    Original or copy of a certificate or diploma of secondary specialized education;

    Medical certificate;

    Certificate of delivery or Unified State Exam results.

    All documents for admission should be prepared in several copies in case of sudden damage to the first sample. Place them in different folders so that you have everything you need at hand at the right time without haste or panic.

    Document submission time

    Most often, the largest influx of applicants is observed in the first days of accepting documents. You don’t have to rush, as you risk wasting a lot of time waiting in line at the admissions office. However, do not leave everything until the last day, because if you don’t have some paper, you may not have time to prepare it before the end of the admissions campaign and submit documents on time.

    Document submission method

    There are several ways to submit documents to a university:

    Personal presence at the university. This method is the most advantageous, since if there are any errors in filling out documents for admission or a shortage of them, you will know about it immediately and will have time to correct the shortcomings.

    Sending documents by registered mail. This method good for those who live far from the chosen university or for some reason cannot personally bring and submit documents.

    Online submission of documents. This type will be available to those applicants who do not have admission preferences and rights to priority admission.

    Waiting for the result

    A very important point if you applied to more than just one university. Even at the moment of submitting documents, take a walk around the university, think about whether you would like to study here. The first impression is often the most correct. Think about, or better yet, write down on a piece of paper which of the educational institutions you have chosen is most preferable for you. Wait for a response from all universities where you sent your documents, and only then decide on further actions.

    Main nuances in different universities

    In our country, some educational institutions have the right to set their own entrance exams. These include:

    These universities conduct additional exams, some of which are regulated by the government, and some of which are determined by the management of the educational institution itself.

    The winners of the Olympiads must provide the university with Unified State Examination results in specialized subjects of at least a certain number of points (65 and above).

    Thus, there should not be any particular difficulties in figuring out which documents to submit to your chosen educational institution. Be careful, well prepared and prepared in advance by gathering everything you need. If you have benefits, make sure that documentary evidence this was in your hands. Meet deadlines, take your time, but don’t leave everything until last. Read all the information for applicants on the university website, or directly there, by carefully studying the stands and posters for applicants. Go for a Day open doors. Be confident in your abilities, spend time before the exam on preparation, and be sure to attend a consultation if one is held.

    Experts' opinion

    Kotov Vladislav, head of the department for admission and pre-university preparation:

    – This publication contains a number of factual errors regarding the list of required documents. So, in particular, the current Admission Procedure requires applicants only to provide a document confirming their identity and citizenship, and a document on education of the established form, or copies thereof.

    The photographs indicated in the text (2 pcs.) must be provided only to those applicants who enter the university based on the results of entrance tests conducted by organizations independently. Applicants based on the results of the Unified State Exam are not required to provide photographs to the admissions committee.

    The medical certificate, as a document, is not mentioned at all in the Admission Procedure. Admissions committees should not require it from applicants.

    Evidence of results Unified State Exam is already has not existed for several years. Now all Unified State Exam results are compiled into a special database - the Federal information system ensuring state final certification and admission of citizens to educational organizations for obtaining secondary vocational and higher education (FIS GIA and admission). Each university conducting admissions had to gain access to this system and was obliged to use it to check all Unified State Exam results declared by applicants during the admissions campaign.

    A few minor remarks.

    The most widespread admission - full-time - begins no later than June 20. At the same time, the experience of past years shows that graduates of the current year by this date, as a rule, do not yet have certificates in hand and, accordingly, cannot submit documents. Therefore, just in the first days of the admissions campaign, there is no influx of applicants. But after a week and a half, at the end of June and beginning of July, the number of applicants actually becomes noticeably greater. At the same time, if the work of the admissions committee is properly organized, there are still no long queues (at least in our university). It is necessary, however, not to forget that the deadline for accepting documents for different categories of applicants may be different. So, if additional creative or professional tests are required for the chosen direction or specialty, the acceptance of documents can be completed as early as July 7 (the exact date must be clarified in the admission rules of the selected university).

    Another factual error - winners and prize-winners of school Olympiads from the list approved by the Ministry of Education and Science can take advantage of admission benefits only if they have Unified State Exam results of at least 75 points in a core subject (the article talks about last year’s threshold of 65 points) . At the same time, a specific university can increase this threshold even more. The exact number must be clarified in the admission rules.
